Preconditional belief

In the Astronist philosophy of religion, a preconditional is a type of belief that isn't dependent upon a pre-existing belief and is therefore the opposite of a conditional and is distinct from a postconditional belief.

An example of a preconditional belief is the belief in a higher power as a general principle as there is no pre-existing belief upon which this is dependent. True preconditionals are usually not specific to religions, but are found more often in general religious ideas and beliefs.
